I've been working on a new picture book with Erin Garcia. I love the way it's turning out! Here's a sneak peak at one of the illustrations created by the super talented Ivreese. For more information, visit Tiger Livy Project. I'll post again when this book is ready to go live.
I'm happy to announce that I'll be working with the nonprofit Clubfoot CARES on this project. We're selling shirts, aiming to cover costs such as cover design, hiring an editor, and paying the writers whose stories are selected for this book.
Click here to see the shirts and learn about this book! We’d like to thank Kestrel Montes from Ink Me This for donating the beautiful hand-lettered design for these t-shirts. If you’re interested in pointed pen calligraphy or custom stamps, check out her website, www.inkmethis.com, and use the promo code 5OFF25 to get a discount. Thanks, Perthes Kids Foundation for recommending my book The Parents' Guide to Perthes for families who are dealing with Perthes disease. I'm a guest at the Perthes Kids Foundation website, where Earl Cole invited me to talk about how this book was developed. Click here to visit their website and learn more. Enter at Goodreads before June 10 for a chance to win a free copy of Hip, Hop, Hooray for Brooklynn! I'm happy to announce that my first picture book Hip, Hop, Hooray for Brooklynn Bunny! will be available in Spring 2017. I teamed up with my co-author Jill Harold to create this upbeat children's book about a little bunny who loves to hop and is determined to learn to hop rope in time for the Hippity Hop Games. For information about advanced review copies, contact Thinking Ink Press.
As some of you know, I'm a member of a small press called Thinking Ink. We're happy to announce our forthcoming steampunk anthology, Thirty Days Later, Steaming Forward: 30 Adventures in Time. Check out the announcement on the Thinking Ink Press website, where you can sign up for news about this book and info about the release party at the Clockwork Alchemy steampunk convention. It was wonderful to see an actor perform my short story "Bees" at Play On Words San Jose last night. He did a great job. "Bees" is now available as an instant book through Thinking Ink Press.
I'm happy to announce that my short story "Bees" is going to be performed by Play On Words in June. I'm excited to see the performance at Cafe Stritch. I'll post again closer to the event, but in the meantime, Play On Words put together a lovely author spotlight for me.
I'm reading my story "Falling" tonight at Flash Fiction Forum at the Works gallery. If you're in San Jose, come by at 7:00 pm. There's a nice lineup. Works/San José, art and performance center 365 S Market St, San Jose, CA |
